Ben M. “Bud” Brigham

Chairman & PARTNER

Bud Brigham is our Chairman and Partner and is currently involved in various business ventures including Anthem Ventures, LLC, a family office, Brigham Exploration Company (the second entity founded by him with such name), a non-operated oil and gas company focused on the Permian Basin, and Atlas Sand Company, LLC, a sand reserve holding company. Bud also currently serves as the Executive Chairman of both Langford Energy Partners I, LLC and Brigham Oil & Gas, L.P.

In addition to founding the Company in 2012, Bud also founded Brigham Resources Operating, LLC and Brigham Resources Midstream, LLC in 2012 and served as Chairman until the sale of substantially all of their assets to Diamondback Energy, Inc., a hydrocarbon exploration company, in February 2017. Bud formed the initial Brigham Exploration in 1990 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of its Board until its sale to Statoil in December 2011. Prior to founding Brigham Exploration in 1990, Bud served for six years as an exploration geophysicist with Rosewood Resources, an oil and gas company, and as a seismic data processing geophysicist for Western Geophysical, a petroleum exploration company.

Bud earned a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from the University of Texas. Bud has served on the National Petroleum Council, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, the Independent Producers Association of America, the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists and The Bureau of Economic Geology Visiting Committee. Bud was inducted into the All American Wildcatters in April 2012 and the University of Texas Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee in April 2015.

Chief Executive officer & PARTNER

Robert Roosa is our Chief Executive Officer and Partner.  Rob was President of Brigham Minerals since inception in November 2012, and Chief Executive Officer from July 2017 and as a Director from May 2018.  Rob and executive management took Brigham Minerals public in April 2019 and managed significant production and cash flow growth until the Company’s ultimate merger with Sitio Royalties in December 2022. 

Rob served as the President of Anthem Ventures, LLC, a family office, and assisted Bud Brigham with a number of family ventures between January 2012 and January 2017. Rob served various roles, including Director of Finance and Investor Relations, while at Brigham Exploration from 2006 until its sale to Statoil in December of 2011. From 2000 to 2006, Rob held a series of positions at Exxon Mobil Corporation, an oil and gas company, in the Corporate Treasurer’s Department. Prior to 2000, Rob worked for Cooper Industries, an electrical products manufacturing company, in its Corporate Controllers and Audit Groups and with the accounting firm Deloitte & Touche LLP in its audit function.

Rob graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Master of Business Administration in 2000 and from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1992.

Geoff Boyd

PRESIDENT

Geoff serves as the President of Brigham Royalties with an emphasis on managing our business development and technical teams.  With Brigham Minerals, Geoff served as the Company’s Vice President of Business Development from 2012 overseeing approximately 2,000 transactions and building a portfolio of approximately 100,000 net acres across Texas, Colorado, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Oklahoma.  

Prior to Brigham Minerals, Geoff served as the Vice President of Acquisitions for Bridgepoint Minerals, brokering approximately 500 deals and ultimately acquiring approximately 30,000 mineral acres across North Dakota, Montana, and Oklahoma.

Geoff graduated from The University of North Carolina in 2005 with a Bachelors in Economics.  During his time at North Carolina, Geoff was a four-year letterman on the Men’s Tennis Team.
