Our Story

In 2008, Brigham Minerals’ predecessor company began buying mineral interests across its operational areas in the newly discovered Bakken shale play in the Williston Basin in North Dakota and Montana. Through these early acquisitions, Brigham saw an opportunity to become the premier buyer in the emerging market of unconventional oil and gas mineral rights. It took a few years to make his vision a reality, but fast forward to 2012, and Brigham Minerals was founded to capitalize on this strategy. The newly formed Brigham Royalties is a continuation of this approach to oil and gas mineral and royalty acquisitions.

Over the last several years, we have assembled an exceptional team of skilled individuals solely focused on identifying mineral and royalty opportunities and have applied a robust, differentiated evaluation approach. As a result, we have transacted on thousands of deals across six states including Texas, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Montana, Colorado and Wyoming. We have had numerous highly-satisfied sellers, which has generated numerous repeat customers.
